 PERMIT FOR ADVERTISING AND BUNTING​

 

Introduction

Ads means any notice, announcement or publication exhibited, shown or established for the purpose of informing the public about any goods, products, production, trade, business, profession, firm, corporation, organization, institution, place, premises, event, activity or any other matter or information on any electronic boxes, boards, roof, walls, , fence, tree, frames, plates, cloth, poles, stakes, wire coating or any part thereof, on or in any building, street or place of public resort, places of public resort, on any ground, balloons, bunting, banners, posters, signage​ excluding an election advertisement.

How To Apply 

  1. Forms are available at the Main Counter level G, Licensing Department on the 13th floor, Branch Office Sungai Buloh, Branch Office at Kota Kemuning and Branch Office at Setia Alam.
  2. Completed forms must be submitted together with one (1) copy for each of the required document. 
  3. The duly completed Application form of the Promotion Permit must be submitted to the Counter of Licensing Department on the 13th floor or at the Main Counter Level G. 
  4. Every application is required to obtain an approval of the Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) to ensure that the Malay language used is appropriate and correct. However, the Council reserves the right to reject the application even if it has been approved if it contradicts the regulations and requirements of the Council.

Guidelines 

  1. Applicants must comply with the guidelines and conditions that have been set for the installation of temporary advertising banners and bunting '. Applicants are not permitted to advertise before approval is granted. Actions may be taken in the event the applicant fails to comply with the directive and the conditions laid by the Council.

Conditions  

  1. ' BUNTING '
    • Bahasa Malaysia must be used on all lamps -post buntings whether they are by themselves or together with any other languages. 
    • If Bahasa Malaysia is used in conjunction with any other languages in the advertisement, the words in Bahasa Malaysia must be bigger in size and placed at the top and clearly shown in terms of visual preference. The use of Bahasa Malaysia must be in correct grammar; (Applicants are required to obtain approval from Dewan Bahasa Dan Pustaka). Please contact DBP at 03-24181960 for further information. 
    • The size of the bunting must be of 2'X6' (0.61mX1.83m). 
    • A copy of the approval letter from the PWD for each application in the street must be attached.
    • Pornographic, gambling and racism advertisements are not allowed at all. 
    • Advertising is prohibited on green and black gold decoration lamp pole. 
    • Installation of the ads is only allowed at the interval of one lamp-post. 
    • The installation is prohibited on the three (3) poles before a junction of the street where there are traffic lights and on the three (3) poles before a roundabout.
    • Its installation period is only for one month. 
    • After the expiry date of the approval, the applicant must discard those 'buntings'.
    • Patching of the approval stickers of each bunting installed on light poles is mandatory. Stickers will only be issued to the applicant after payment is made. 
    • The Council will not be responsible for any incidents or accidents involving those buntings. 
    • The Council will terminate the permit without any notice and the deposit will not be refunded if the applicant fails to comply the above mentioned terms and conditions.
    • If the deposit is not claimed within 3 months, it will not be refunded. 
    • All terms and conditions are subjected to the decision of the Council from time to time without any notice.

  2. LOCATIONS THAT ARE PROHIBITED FOR MOUNTING OF BUNTINGS 
    • Not allowed to be installed along the promenade protocol, namely: ​
      • Persiaran Kayangan
      • Persiaran Masjid 
      • Persiaran Sultan
      • Persiaran Hishamuddin
      • Persiaran Perbandaran 
      • Persiaran Damai 
      • Persiaran Bandaraya
      • Persiaran Tasik
      • Persiaran Dato' Menteri
      • Town centre (section 14).
      • PWD Roads by District (PWD must obtain prior approval in advance)
    • OUR streets by District (have to get approval from US in advance):- 
    Refer to the Petaling district – Cruise career, Jalan Batu Tiga-Sg. Buloh, Jalan Subang Lama, Jalan Subang, Subang Airport Road, Persiaran Kuala Selangor Silver Jubilee (From JVC Circle to Central Sugar) and Jalan kg. Baru Sungai Buloh, Persiaran sports.
    Refer to the District of Klang -Jalan Bukit Kemuning and Jalan Padang Jawa.
  3. ​​​ BANNERS
    • Bahasa Malaysia shall be used on all banners whether it is by itself or together with any other language. 

    • If Bahasa Malaysia is used in conjunction with any other languages in the advertisement, the words in Bahasa Malaysia must be bigger in size and placed at the top and clearly shown in terms of visual preference.     • The size of a banner depends on the size of the location. 

    • The standard size of a banner is 20'X4 ' which is 8 square meters. There will be extra charges, if the size exceeds the size of the banner.

    • Pornographic, gambling and racism advertisements are not allowed at all. 

    • Its installation period is only for one month. 

    • After the expiry date of the approval, the applicant must discard those banners.

    • Patching of the approved stickers of each banner is mandatory. Stickers will only be issued to the applicant after payment is made.

    • The deposit is not claimed within 3 months will not be refunded.

  4. INSTALLATION OF BANNERS 
    • Banners can be installed at your own premises only. 

    • Installation at other premises is allowed by written permission from the owner of the building. 

    • Banners can also be hung in the following places: - 
      • The Banner holder at Section 2 Near the Bestari Circle 
      • The Banner holder at Section 7 Near the traffic lights of the Section 7 mosque 
      • The Banner holder at Section 7 Near Unisel Signal Lights 
      • The Banner holder at Section 9 - Berhampiran Lampu Isyarat Plaza Masalam
      • The Banner holder at Section 13 Close to Extreme Park traffic lights 
      • The Banner holder at Section 13 - Berhampiran Lampu Isyarat MSU College
      • The Banner holder at Section 14 - Berhampiran Satay Kajang Kompleks PKNS
      • The Banner holder at Section 14 - Berhampiran Laman Budaya
      • The Banner holder at Section 18 Close to CIMB Bank traffic lights 
      • The Banner holder at Section 19 

Terms of Payment

Payments of permit fee and advertising deposits or bunting must be made after receiving the letter of approval. ​
