The Engineering Department is the Department responsible for works related to infrastructure planning, road maintenance, drainage, slopes, street lights, traffic lights, infrastructure control, earthworks and vehicle maintenance at the Shah Alam City Council.
Department Function
- Responsible for reviewing and approving land works and infrastructure plans (roads, ditches and street lights) for the development of new areas
- Process and issue earthwork permits (permits to build temporary access/exit roads and permits to transport soil on public roads)
- Plan, manage and coordinate maintenance works and proposals to upgrade infrastructure facilities (public roads, traffic signs and street name signs) within the MBSA administrative area
Planning, managing and coordinating drain and flood repair works in MBSA's administrative area
- Monitor, supervise and maintain slopes from landslides
- Planning, managing and coordinating the maintenance works of Wisma MBSA, MBSA premises (halls, markets & stalls)
- Planning, managing and coordinating the maintenance works of public street lights, traffic light systems, public lights in recreational parks and games within the MBSA administrative area
- Manage the purchase of vehicles, machinery and maintain the Council's vehicles, machinery, machines and mechanical equipment
Client's Charter
- Give an online review on the review application for the Permission to Plan the Layout Plan/Establishment of the Building within 7 days from the date of receipt of the OSC Online application.
Providing comments online on the request for comment on the Land/Road and Drainage/Street Lighting Plan within 28/90 days from the issuance of the MJKOSC decision notification according to the application method.
Provide feedback on Land Work Permit applications within 7 days from the date of receipt of the application at the Department counter
Carry out service work on a vehicle within 2 hours after receiving a report from the driver at the MBSA Workshop
- Process vehicle use / rental approval within 7 working days from the date of receipt of complete application documents
- Respond to all complaints within 3 working days from the date the complaint is received through the complaint system
- Provide feedback on the application for the acquisition of Roads and Drainage/Street Lights within 7 days from the date of receipt of the application at the Department's counter
