NEW CHAPTER WITH HANAM CITY, SOUTH KOREA
MBSA received a visit from Hanam City, South Korea in an effort to establish bilateral
cooperation in various fields particularly in the field of ICT development, research, sports, tourism
and culture. Hanam City is 93 square kilometers and is located on the outskirts of Seoul. The
slogan given for Hanam City is ‘A City Within Fresh Nature, A Nature Within Green’.
Mr Ho Young Ra headed the delegates of 9 people. With visits from overseas, I hope MBSA can
showcase the best examples of both in terms of administration, urban management, services,
and so on, so that MBSA will be highly regarded and become the benchmark to all parties.
CLEAN ZONE AWARDS 2012
In several community programs, MBSA again became the Champion after defeating 12 of the
Local Authorities (LA) in Selangor. During the Award Ceremony, MBSA name was repeated
several times.
The Awards Ceremony held on December 1, 2012 saw MBSA winning major awards as well
as the 5 other awards. It was held at the Shah Alam Convention Centre (SACC), and was
attended by the Hon. Chief Minister of Selangor, Tan Sri Dato ‘Seri Abdul Khalid b. Ibrahim, Local
Government, Study and Research EXCO, Mr. Ronnie Liu Tian Khiew and representatives of local
authorities.
MBSA was selected from 12 local authorities to receive major awards during the Award
Ceremony Clean Zone Selangor 2012. Besides winning five awards from the eight categories:
Champion, Clean Zone for Local Council, Best Practice for Model Management, Cleanliness
Monitoring criteria, Local Landscape Maintenance Criteria, Public Facilities Maintenance criteria
in Selangor.
For the cooperation and commitment of the Council and the residents around the Clean Zones
MBSA 2012 of Section 10 & 11 have succeeded in creating good relations and cooperation
among them, as well as help maintain and improve the surrouding environment.
