CYCLING TRACKS FOR SHAH ALAM RESIDENTS
In line with efforts by MBSA to produce healthy and active life through cycling, MBSA has built
a bike path with a distance of 2 km around the green route of Section 4. This bike path is MBSA’s
initiative to create a healthy lifestyle among the community as well as many other recreational
activities.
This route serves as a platform to provide a more systematic bike path which is safe especially
now that residents prefer to cycle and have family outings.
The construction of this bike path started in July 2012 and completed in December 2012 a width
of 8 feet and is equipped with a cycle path that has been paved, have signboards, ramps, road
crossings and playground.
This construction of bike path is an attempt by MBSA to achieve its “park connectors” in Shah
Alam and the nearby green area. Section 4 will be a pilot project for the development of “park
connectors” in the downtown area which in turn will connect green areas in Shah Alam area.
In this regard, the Council encourages the public to use the bike path for leisure activities with
family because this facility was built for the benefit of Shah Alam residents and is thus able to
produce a healthy lifestyle among them.
It is the Council’s hope that this bike path will form a healthy, fit and cultivate harmony among
Shah Alam residents.
