In the evenings, I will take my grandchildren to
the lakeside as they simply love the playground
and at the same time can watch people canoeing
in the lake. I find the recreational area around
the lake to be well- maintained, clean and have
good facilities, like toilets and also restaurants
- giving good service. These are moments of
happiness for me and my grandchildren.

Besides indulging in regular jogs at the lakeside,
I also go for jogs nearer to my house in Section
4, an area called Taman Hutan Bukit SUK, near
Mahkamah Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah, just below
the Government Secretariat. This is another
favourite place for joggers and walkers, having
a small lake and well- maintained undulating
jogging path leading right up to Warriors
monument. Wedding couples often use this
secluded greenery to have their wedding photos
taken, the serene beautiful scenery makes for
a memorable setting. There are also monkeys
jumping about from tree to tree and sometimes
one can see big monitor lizards around the
lake.

Occasionally, I will take my grandchildren to
Taman Bukit Cahaya, where there is a free tour
bus, to take us and other visitors around the
area, the driver helpfully explaining the type
of trees and agricultural projects around the
place - very educational for my grandchildren
who are fascinated by the greenery, the huge
tall trees and quiet, tranquil environment of
the jungle - away from the hustle and bustle of
city life, a concrete jungle of smoke and dust.

The Raja Tun Uda library and the museum
nearby are also favourite place for me and my
grandchildren. We are registered members
of this well-equipped library and never failed
to borrow books every three weeks. The
grandchildren simply loved Muzium Sultan
Alam Shah and are fascinated by historical
items on display, showing our World War II
soldiers during the Japanese Occupation and
the Tin Mining dredges which they have never
seen and which I have a hard time to explain,
an educational experience for me too.
